i had awful problems with my internet connection yesterday so i was unable to put the post i was wanting. anyway I'm not going to moan about that, but continue with my utter pearls of wisdom. (ha yeah right). so i wanted to share this great beauty tip that my beautiful mother shared with me when i was 13, you know starting to wear make-up on a regular basis. this wonder product is...durn durn durn...vaseline. i know i know whats so magnificent about this, and i know that probably most people, like myself used to, only use it as lip balm.
because this product is so amazing, i had to involve everyone it its awesomeness. I've compromised a list of its contributions, and I'm hoping that it encourages you to give it a go.
- it is a great make-up remover. by massaging the jelly onto the eyelashes, it breaks down the mascara, leaving it admittedly all around your eye. but then using a wet piece of cotton wool, is easily removed.
- whilst we are on the eyes, vaseline is great at thicken the eyelashes and helping the growth. this is because but coating them in the vaseline before you sleep at night, it is strengthening them, therefore preventing breakages. so get coating in them in the inexpensive wonder product.
- can help keep your perfume on longer. before applying your fragrance, smear a little bit of vaseline on the areas you mostly apply the scent. best places are just behind the ears, cleavage, middle of the back of neck (i learnt this a while ago, it adds a cheeky little scent for when people hug you works great) mainly places where a pulse can be found.
- it can be mixed with eyeshadow to make a more shiny, cream eyeshadow effect, very inexpensive for those on a budget, and to make cream blusher, using vaseline and lipstick for a more dewy subtle look.
- this one is possibly my biggest life saver, considering i dye my hair, a lot. but if you apply the vaseline around the hair line, it acts as a barrier to stop the hair dye staining for skin. so if dying your hair before going out somewhere, you can avoid all the embarrassment of having dyed skin.
- it becomes a great barrier for fake tan streaks. I'm not a fan of the stuff personally myself, but i know that is possibly one of life's greatest inventions. if used correctly. theres nothing worse than seeing streaks of different shades on one persons skin. so use the vaseline in exceptionally dry areas, such as elbows, knees etc, and say hello to fabulous tanned skin.
now these are just some of my favourite uses of vaseline, but I'm pretty sure it can be used for almost anything. so get experimenting. and see if you can find a way to make vaseline your new bff.
